Steve Caddle – Managing Director
Steve has over 25 years experience in the sheetmetal and fabrication industries. In 2004 he established Precision Laser Cutting Ltd. He is involved in all aspects of the business and has built a loyal team that share his dedication to customer service.When not running the company, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
Dan Gent – Production Manager
Dan is a trade certified Fitter and Turner, completing his apprenticeship at the University of Auckland’s physics department. Since then he has worked for a variety of companies including Auckland Coachbuilders, James Hardie and Kinetic Engineering before joining the Precision Laser Cutting team in 2005. Dan is married and has a young son so his Chrysler Valiant restoration project is currently on hold.
Philip Groves – Technical Sales / Key Account Manager
Philip started his career as stainless steel fabricator building large vats and pressure vessels, working his way to foreman, workshop manager and then production manager. He joined Precision Laser Cutting in 2007 as Technical Sales Manager using his industry experience to help in designing, measuring and quoting out of the ordinary jobs.Married with two children, when he gets a spare moment Philip works on building his ultimate computer system.
Tom Green – Production Team Leader
Tom has had a varied career with experience in sheetmetal and heavy fabrication then getting involved in training kids in engineering. He has even appeared on TV in Shortland Street, Outrageous Fortune and various TV adverts. Tom started on night shift at Precision Laser Cutting in 2007 and now oversees all aspects of production including quality control.Keen on fishing, rugby and league, he is married with two children and a granddaughter.
Kay Peek – Office Manager/Accounts
Kay has worked for Steve for over eleven years and efficiently manages the office and accounts department. She is person to ask for for any account questions and will also phone you if your account is overdue.With a husband, two sons and four grandchildren, Kay enjoys boating and fishing from their bach on the Thames Coast.
Rahul Prasad – Sales / Laser Programming
Rahul was a teacher in Fiji before changing countries and careers to become a laser programmer. Since starting at Precision Laser Cutting he has also become involved in design and sales.Married with one boy, in his spare time Rahul loves playing and watching soccer.
Richard Ramsay – Cad Design / Laser Programming
Richard started his career in Christchurch as a turret press programmer before being lured to Auckland and a subsequent 20 year career with Masport Industries. Starting at Precision Laser Cutting in 2007, he is involved in CAD design and product development from concept to finished article.Richard's passion is racing a Suzuki 1200 drag bike and has been three times national champion in the modified class. In 2009 he was also a member of the team that achieved a sixteen year goal of finally winning the Trans Tasman Drag Bike Challenge.
Ray Vavau – Design / Project Manger
Ray’s quiet exterior hides a wealth of experience in heavy fabrication, ship building, fitting and structural engineering. Starting at Precision Laser Cutting in 2003 as a fabricator, he learned CAD drawing at night school and moved into the office in 2006 he is now involved among other roles, in designing, pricing and on site measuring.Ray is currently studying for a Diploma of Mechanical Engineering and in his spare time enjoys running and using his design skills to create unique gifts.
Dave Smith – Design / Project Manager
Dave trained as a fitter and turner at Eric Paton Ltd and has also owned his own engineering business. He has worked with Steve since 1995 and specialises in designing purpose built production machinery from concept to turn-key.Married with two children Dave owns a Denis Ganley designed fourteen metre offshore cruising yacht which is moored at Panmure.
